The XSClimber can be fitted with two different types of secondary brakes, for single or dual wire rope capability. This way, the XSClimber can be used around the world, without adjustments.
SAFETY WITH A STANDARD
In the rare case of cable breakage, these mechanical brakes prevent the platform from falling.
Both devices are certified in accordance with the European standard EN1808:1999+A1:2010,
and meet or exceed OSHA and ANSI requirements.
In both cases, the secondary brake can easily be attached to the connectors on the XSClimber.
When activated, these devices send a signal to the XSClimber to stop hoisting. This prevents
The Overspeed Device is used when each XSClimber uses a single wire rope. Designed to meet North American regulations, this centrifugal brake is activated if the hoist experiences an instantaneous change in momentum or an accelerated overspeed episode at a speed of 1.64 ft/s.
SLACK ROPE DEVICE
The Slack Rope Device is used if each XSClimber uses two wire ropes: one suspension and one safety rope. This mechanical brake is activated if the tension on the suspension rope is lost, or if the platform tilts more than 14 degrees. It meets or exceeds the requirements in all countries, and can be used around the world.
